Arrivals and departures
Who is coming in, who is here, and who is going home.
Arrivals is the screen for the front desk on a boarding morning: expected today, already here, and leaving today, in three lists.
- 1 Check them in as they arrive This moves them from expected to here, so anyone glancing at the screen knows who is in the building.
- 2 Record anything unusual Belongings, mood, anything the owner mentioned. It is on the stay card for whoever has them tomorrow.
- 3 Check them out when they leave This is also when an unpaid balance is easiest to settle — they are standing there.
Lapsed vaccines
A dog due in whose required vaccines have lapsed, or are missing, is flagged under its row with what is wrong. Checking it in needs a manager: they tick Check in anyway on that row, and the check-in records who accepted it. If you cannot tick it, ask a manager. Until it is sorted, nobody in that batch is checked in, so a family arriving together stays together.
A pet still shown as here at the end of the day is either still here or was never checked out. That is exactly why the screen is worth keeping honest.
