Setting up a van

A van is set up under Settings → Mobile. Everything about the mobile round depends on this being right, so it is worth ten minutes.

1. 1 Add the van Give it a name your staff would use out loud — "the blue van" beats "Unit 2".
2. 2 Set where it starts Type the depot address and press Check the address. This has to be a real, confirmed address: the first drive of the day is measured from here.
3. 3 Draw your service areas The postcodes or areas you will travel to.
4. 4 Say which days it covers which area Coverage is per weekday — "north side Tuesdays" — and each day needs a driver named.

A van with no driver named on a given weekday produces an empty round for that day, with no error. If the map or the round is blank, check this first.

Why pressing Check the address matters

Saving an address stores the text. Checking it turns the text into a point on the map. Without that, we cannot work out a drive time to or from it, so the van appears to go nowhere.
