Sales tax
Setting a rate per location, and what it applies to.
Tax is set per location, because two locations are not always in the same jurisdiction. You give a rate and a label — whatever your receipts should call it.
Empty is not the same as zero
Leave the rate blank and no tax line appears at all. Set it to zero and a zero line appears. That is the difference between "we have not set this up" and "grooming is not taxed here", and on an invoice a client queries, it matters.
What gets taxed
Services, add-ons and charges — and the discount comes off before tax is worked out, so tax follows what the client actually pays. Missed-appointment fees and tips are not taxed.
Changing the rate
Applies from then on. Invoices you have already issued keep the tax they were issued with.
More on pricing and packages
- Services and prices — What you offer, how long it takes, and what it costs.
- Packages — Prepaid blocks like ten baths: setting one up, selling it, and using a visit at checkout.
- Discounts and codes — Money off at the desk, and codes with limits on them.
- No-shows and late cancellations — Setting a fee, when the fee invoice is raised, collecting it, and waiving one.
