Client and pet records
What to fill in, what can wait, and searching by the dog's name.
A client is a person; a pet belongs to them. One client can have any number of pets, and a pet stays with its record for life — it is what the history hangs off.
What actually has to be filled in
A name. That is it. Everything else can be added the second time they come, and a record you cannot save at 7am because a field is empty is a record somebody writes on paper instead.
Searching
Search finds people by the pet's name as well as their own, and by any run of digits in their phone number. "It is Rufus's mum" is usually all the desk gets, so that is what search is built for.
Who changed what
At the bottom of a client's page, a History panel lists the changes to the client, their pets and their vaccinations: who made each one, when, and what it said before. It shows for people who have been given the permission to see the change history, which is owners and managers to begin with. Phone numbers and email addresses in it show only to people who may see contact details.

Two records for the same person.
It happens when somebody books online with a different phone number. Records cannot be merged and a pet cannot be moved to another client yet, so keep using the fuller record and add a note to the other saying which one is current.
A client has moved to a different branch.
Change their home location on their record. That is the location their online bookings and reminders will use from then on.
