Help · Messages and reminders
Why a message did not send
The reasons a message is held back, in the order they are checked.
Every text and email goes through the same set of checks before it leaves, and every blocked message records which check stopped it. Open the client and look at their messages — the reason is on the message itself.
- 1 Nowhere to send it There is no mobile number (for a text) or email address (for an email) on the client.
- 2 They opted out Somebody replied STOP. This is the one you cannot override: agreeing again has to come from them.
- 3 Marketing texts are paused Offers, mass texts marked "A promotion" and review requests. Your texting registration covers appointment messages only, and sending promotions on it could get your number blocked, reminders and all. Until your registration covers them, these are not sent, whatever the client has agreed to. Appointment texts, and email, are not affected.
- 4 No agreement on record A text needs the client's agreement recorded for that kind of message. If they have agreed and it was never recorded, record it on their record.
- 5 Quiet hours Offers only. An offer outside the hours you set is not sent — it is not saved for later. Reminders and "ready" texts are never held for quiet hours.
- 6 Too many offers already Offers only. A client gets at most three offers a week by default, which protects your number as much as their patience. Reminders are never capped.
- 7 Already sent The same message to the same person within five minutes is not sent twice, even if something is clicked twice.
- 8 Not subscribed yet Texts start once you have subscribed to a plan. A free trial cannot send them.
- 9 Your texting number is not live Your business has to be registered with the phone carriers and have its own number before any text can go. Settings → Texting shows where that has got to; approval can take about a week or longer.
Going over your monthly allowance does not stop anything: reminders keep going. Replies you type to a client are never counted.
Not available yet Sending an offer held back by quiet hours once those hours end.
