Help · When something looks wrong
I did something by accident
Undoing a mistake: what can be put right, what cannot, and what to do instead.
Most things can be put right. A few deliberately cannot, and those are the ones worth knowing before you need to.
Fixable
- A ticked checklist line can be unticked. Somebody taps the wrong row on a phone in a corridor; a list that cannot be corrected gets worked around instead.
- A discount on a draft invoice can be removed.
- A closed incident can be reopened.
- A cancelled appointment stays on the client's record, so nothing is lost.
- A withdrawn service can be turned back on. A withdrawn package cannot — set it up again instead.
Not fixable, on purpose
- What an incident says happened. Add a follow-up note instead — the original stands and the correction sits beside it.
- An issued invoice. Refund or void it; it is not edited, because a client has already been given it.
- A price on an invoice already issued. Changing your price list does not reach backwards.
Nothing important is ever really deleted. Services, packages and staff are turned off rather than removed, so everything that referred to them still makes sense.
