Opening hours
Setting them per location, and the lunch-gap trick.
Settings → Business → Hours, per location. These are not decoration: the calendar, online booking and your public website all refuse times outside them. A location with no hours set offers nothing at all, which is the single most common reason a new salon sees an empty calendar.
Closing for lunch
Give the day two sets of hours with a gap between. An appointment may not run across the gap, so it genuinely protects the break rather than just drawing a line on the calendar.
Closed days
Untick the day. Do not set it to open from 00:00 to 00:00 — that reads as open for no minutes, which is a different and much more confusing thing.
"Tuesday closes before it opens."
Hours running past midnight are not supported. A salon open until 2am needs to talk to us.
"Tuesday has two sets of hours that overlap."
Two intervals on one day have to have a real gap between them. Overlapping ones are refused rather than quietly merged.
Closing for a bank holiday?
Settings, then Closures beside the location's hours. Add the date and nothing can be booked that day; you can also hold an hour, for a staff meeting say, from the same screen.
